Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday visited students at A.I.C Moi Girls High School in Samburu.
Gachagua was on his way to a church service in Maralal.
The DP encouraged candidates sitting their KCSE examination.
"Education for girls, especially in marginalised areas, is key to our societal development," he said.
Gachagua called on the young girls to put a strong focus on their education while being cautious of the danger of the 'Triple Threat' - teenage pregnancy, new HIV infections and gender-based violence.
