Former MP Wilson Sossion has been nominated as Chief Administrative Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism.
Known to many, Sossion held the education sector close to his heart having served as a unionist.
Before his appointment, Sossion championed various policies in the education sector including the scrapping of Competency-Based Curriculum.
Sossion will serve alongside Rehema Dida.
Elly Stephen, Mark Lomunokol and Anab Mohammed have been appointed to the ministry of education.
The former KNUT Secretary General Sossion termed “luck” his appointment.
Speaking when he appeared for the interviews, the former nominated ODM MP said at no time has he ever been shortlisted or called to appear for an interview for a public office.
He did not, however, state whether he had submitted applications for other job opportunities in government before.
“This is the first interview of my life and I am happy I had a good engagement with the panelists. I have never been interviewed before,” he said.
Sossion had been a classroom teacher before rising to be a unionist until he resigned.
He also defended the creation of the office saying it will give meaning to the efficiency of leadership in the ministries.
He is among the 50 nominees to the CAS positions.
