Let Ruto deliver on poll pledges, Gatanga MP urges Raila

Says Kenya Kwanza is committed to performance and efficiency and Kenyans should give them time.

Gatanga MP Edward Muriu has asked Azimio leaderRaila Odinga to stop destabilising peace and support Ruto to deliver on campaign promises.

Speaking to the Star, Muriu, who also serves as secretary of legal affairs, UDA party, said that the Kenya Kwanza should be allowed to serve Kenyans.

He emphasised the importance of allowing Kenya Kwanza to fullfil its election promises first, as the time for 2027 will eventually come.

“I would like to request former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to allow Ruto to deliver. We won the election fairs and delivered Kenyans from handshake brothers, Raila and Uhuru," Muriu said.

He said the Kenya Kwanza government is committed to performance and efficiency and Kenyans should give them time to deliver.

Before the last general election, Ruto embarked on his campaign with a commitment to enhancing the well-being of the less privileged, generating employment opportunities, and addressing the soaring cost of living that has left countless ordinary citizens grappling to afford necessities.

Raila has been a fierce critic of the Kenya Kwanza administration.

He described President Ruto’s first 100 days in office as a road to nowhere and accused him of misleading Kenyans on his promises.

Raila described Ruto’s leadership as pushing Kenyans from the frying pan to the real flames, saying life is becoming unbearable, and accusing the current regime of not solving these challenges.

In response, Ruto has maintained that he Kenya Kwanza administration is committed to delivering on every promise they made to Kenya.

During a joint media interview on Sunday, the President requested Kenyans to support the government noting that he is conscious of the promises he made.

Isaiah Gichu, the national chairman of the Party of Democratic Unity, has cautioned Kenyans to prepare themselves for challenging times ahead, as there are no indications of a reduction in the prices of essential goods.
