Search and rescue teams are combing various places for possible more cases, police said citing the heavy downpour experienced on Tuesday.

Outgoing Nairobi police commander Adamson Bungei said the first incident was reported on Tuesday evening in the Sunton area where a body was found floating on the Nairobi River.

Locals said the body had been swept downstream to the Gituamba area.

The body had physical injuries on the back of the head.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.

The trees also blocked roads for hours before they were removed.

A perimeter wall on Valley Road collapsed following heavy and windy rains and blocked a section of the road.

The county and Kenya Power officials have been working overtime to address distress calls.
