Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege has expressed her full support to the Presidency of William Ruto.
Speaking during the funeral service of the late David Waweru Ng’ethe in Kandara, Murang’a, Sabina said she cannot stand to say Ruto is not the president.
"Mr President I went to the other side briefly but when my boss gave you the powers to continue being the new boss, I cannot stand to say you are not the President. I respect, honour and support you," she said.
She also said that the Jubilee party is intact, and will fully support the Kenya Kwanza's mandate.
Chege said as the acting party leader she is going to stand firm and protect the political outfit to ensure it remains strong.
“Chama iko sawa na tunaichunga vizuri… Tuko sawa and maneno itakuwa sawa,” she said.
Her remarks came moments after a National Executive Council group led by acting secretary general Kanini Kega announced the dismissal of secretary general Jeremiah Kioni and vice chair David Murathe from the party.
Kagwe Gichohi, who was also facing disciplinary action, was suspended for two years.
Making the announcement, Kega said the planned NDC called by retired president Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday will not be held.
"There will be no NDC on Monday. The party will advise members on the dates of the NDC after finalising this dispute," he said.
He said the disciplinary team found Kioni and Murathe guilty of the charges they faced.
