Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday held bilateral talks with Angola President Joāo Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço.

The talks took place at the sidelines of a high-level summit on DRC peace initiative in Luanda, Angola.

Mudavadi who is representing President William Ruto at the summit was accompanied by the by PS State Department for Parliamentary Affairs Aurelia Rono, Charge D'Affaires Kenyan Embassy in Angola Andrew Mujivane and Special Advisor to the office of the Prime CS Samuel Karanja.

Foreign Affairs CS Alfred Mutua is also attending the high level summit.

“Our talks centred on issues of mutual interest to the two countries that include boosting trade in agricultural sector, oil, mining, tourism and the Blue Economy,” Mudavadi said through his twitter handle.

“We also discussed the critical role our two countries play in promoting Peace and stability in the African continent,” he added.

Mudavadi left the country on Friday for a two-day official visit to Luanda, Angola.

The Prime CS is representing President Ruto at the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the signatory of the countries of the Framework Agreement for Peace, Security and Cooperation for DRC.

The Framework Agreement for Peace, Security, and Cooperation for the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Region was signed in 2013 by 11 African countries, including Kenya.

The signing ceremony took place in the African Union (AU) Headquarters, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in the presence of several African and international dignitaries.
