Azimio la Umoja Raila Odinga's supporters sang along to 'uninyunyizie maji' as they danced and snaked their way to Central Park from Kamukunji Grounds.
They were marching towards Central Park on Friday during the Saba Saba protests against the high cost of living.
The supporters had been marching joyfully when suddenly the deejay switched to the 'Uninyunyizie maji, unioshe nitakase' song.
A police water canister could be seen right ahead approaching them as they sang along and danced to the song.
They began hurling stones at the water canister that was now spraying the water to dispatch the protesters.
The song however continued playing while the protesters who were busy aiming the canister with stones got washed.
The protests had been called by Raila Odinga with the aim of boycotting President William Ruto’s regime, its policies and taxes.
He called for rallies to begin on Friday at the Kamukunji Grounds in commemoration of the Saba saba day.
“Our Kamukunji meeting is in Nairobi this Friday as we had announced. But it is not just a Kamukunji in Nairobi, but a Kamukunji across the country where this Third Liberation will be launched,” Odinga said.
