A section of Azimio leaders on Friday visited Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka's Karen home amid unconfirmed reports of his house arrest.
The leaders included National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi and embattled Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni.
Their visit to Kalonzo came amid claims that the Wiper boss had been put under house arrest since Tuesday.
Kalonzo has been missing in action during the three-day opposition protests called against President William Ruto's government.
Wandayi who was addressing the press outside Kalonzo’s Karen home in Nairobi claimed that Kalonzo’s freedom of movement had been curtailed.
“We hope that whoever is responsible will desist from this and allow him to enjoy his liberty and freedom of movement going forward,” Wandayi said.
"Kalonzo is a national leader of repute, but the government decided to lock and block him from going about his businesses. This is unprecedented.''
However, Wandayi did not disclose if they met Kalonzo and what they discussed.
Kioni on his part suggested that the State could have detained opposition leaders in anticipation of violence.
"It is now clear that this regime has acquired tactics of the old, but they should know that we will not relent in our quest for a better Kenya," Kioni said.
He demanded the immediate, unconditional release of all Azimio politicians and aides who were arrested during the countrywide protests.
"Azimio la Umoja will in the course of the week share details on the way forward, especially, what the activities that we will undertake going forward, starting next week," Kioni added.
According to Kalonzo's communication officer Paloma Gatabaki, police had been stationed outside his house since Tuesday.
She said this prevented the Wiper leader from leaving his home.
"Yes, it is true that H.E Kalonzo Musyoka has been under house arrest since Tuesday evening. The Subarus and land rovers have been stationed outside his Karen residence preventing him from leaving," Gatabaki said in a tweet that Kalonzo retweeted.
