Bipartisan teams arrive at Bomas, set to agree on agenda

Members of the Dialogue Committee have begun arriving at the Bomas of Kenya for the Kenya Kwanza-Azimio bipartisan talks.

Team leaders Kalonzo Musyoka (Azimio) and Kimani Ichung'wah (Kenya Kwanza) have already arrived and ushered to the waiting room.

Also present are EALA legislator Hassan Omar, former Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Embu Governor Cecil Mbarire.

Members of the technical teams, four from each side, are present. The two sides are today expected to agree on the agenda of the discussions.

Kenya Kwanza had listed the reconstitution of the IEBC, implementation of two-thirds gender rule, the entrenchment of the Constituency Development Fund, and the establishment, entrenchment of the Office of the Leader of the Opposition and embedment of the Office of Prime Cabinet Secretary as the items for discussion.

Azimio has named the cost of living, audit of the 2022 presidential election results, restructuring and reconstitution of the IEBC.

It also wants interference with political parties discussed.
