There's no need to read too much into CSs reshuffle – DP

He said it is the prerogative of the President to organise and reorganise his team.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has asked Kenyans not to read too much into the Cabinet reshuffle saying no one was sacked.

In a tweet on his X account, Gachagua said it is the prerogative of the President to organise and reorganise his team.

"He reorganised his team for effective delivery of the services," Gachagua said. 

The DP also urged the CSs who were given new mandates to work with diligence and commitment. 

"Ensure your work is visible to the public," he said.

Mwathani wakwa njakaniria tawa, by John Murage & Gicheha wa Ngugi, which is loosely translated to turn on the lights for me my Lord.

Kuria was moved from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry to that of Public Service Performance, and Delivery Management. 

He was replaced by Rebecca Miano.

While reacting to the reshuffle, Kuria said that he would put in all the efforts in his new ministry.

He also promised to help President Ruto succeed in his manifesto, by working hard in his new role. 

"I will disappoint the critics by the way I will streamline this ministry. They will say that I am too much. They will be asking for another reshuffle in six months. I will move around this country to make sure the government of President William Ruto succeeds in the plans he promised Kenyans," he said.

"If you were disturbed with me having one ministry, how about now that I coordinate all the 22 ministries?"

The CS made the statement during the official launch of the Garissa County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP).

Other CSs who were moved to other dockets are; Alice Wahome to the Ministry of Lands, Zacharia Njeru to the Ministry of Water, Peninah Malonza is now under the Ministry of East African Community, The ASALs and Regional Developments. 

Alfred Mutua will now head the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, while Aisha Jumwa is under the Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage.
