Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi held Tuesday a bilateral meeting with the UK’s secretary of state for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
The meeting which also brought together cabinet secretaries came ahead of the planned engagement with King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
“We deliberated on a range of concerns, covering all ministries and departments of our government,” Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale said.
On Defence, Duale said they explored a number of issues touching on the already existing Defence Cooperation Agreement, counter-terrorism and insurgency centre agreements between the two countries.
Training and development of special marine squadrons and possible ways to further and strengthen our cooperation was also discussed, he stated.
Attorney General Justin Muturi and some principal secretaries among other UK officials were also in attendance.
A series of engagements have been planned between the King and the CSs in Nairobi.
The King who is accompanied by Queen Camilla arrived in the country Monday night.
The royal couple is in the country on a four-day State Visit.
They were received by President William Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto at Statehouse, Nairobi Tuesday morning.
During their reception, they were also honoured with a 21-gun salute.
