ODM leader Raila Odinga has celebrated his 79th birthday with children from eight children's homes in Malindi.
The celebration took place at the Malindi Orphanage in Malindi town.
Raila dedicated his birthday to the liberation of the children and people of Palestine.
The ODM leader sympathized with the deteriorating children's welfare in the Gaza Strip following the continued bombing.
"What is happening in Gaza is genocide. Children are the flowers of the nation and if there are no children then the country cannot thrive," he said.
The opposition leader urged President William Ruto to condemn the continued killing of children in Gaza.
"I want to tell William Ruto that he should condemn the ongoing attacks. You cannot continue to kill children even if you are offended. I pity Israel for what happened but Israel should not make Palestinians refugees in their own country. What is happening in Gaza is similar to what Hitler did," he added.
Raila Odinga's wife Ida Odinga said all children belong to God.
He thanked Raila for joining the children in celebrating his birthday.
Five children were also celebrating their birthday with Raila.
Raila donated food for one month for each of the eight children's homes.
He also donated Sh500,000.
Other leaders who graced the event are Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir, Kilifi deputy governor Flora Chibule, Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo, MPs Ken Chonga (Kilifi South), Amina Mnyazi (Malindi), Harry Kombe (Magarini) Mishi Mboko (Likoni), Rashid Bedzimba (Kisauni) among other leaders.
