Charles 'Charli' Ouda's Makutano Junction crew has eulogized him as one who was committed to his responsibilities and never disappointed.
The crew who knew him as PP said he joined the Mediae Cast for the production of the award-winning Makutano Junction in April 2003.
They said his versatility and adaption to the character quickly earned him a place at the table of A-list actors at the age of 19 years.
"Philip Baraka or PP as we fondly referred to him amazed directors as he shuttled between different roles; as a child in the Baraka family, a village youth trying to get his identity at Makutano Junction Secondary to a proper depiction of the restlessness of the youth in our ever-changing society," they said.
Speaking during Charli's requiem mass, at the All Saints Cathedral Nairobi, they expressed their amazement as there was nothing that Charli could not do.
Mediae organisation said he transitioned in the show from a schoolboy to a youth leader as a councillor in the imaginary town.
They recognized the actor as one who was disciplined, respectful, soft-spoken and gentle at all times.
"In his own quiet and calm manner, he showed us how to work through challenging times and to carry everyone along. It was always refreshing to see a well-brought-up young man who always gave up his seat to an older person," they said
The crew said he was always a bridge between generations at the Makutano Junction village as he mingled well with the elderly and also the very young.
"When Know Zone, another Mediae Production for the school children show was started Charles Ouda was already fit for the role of a presenter many believed the role was tailor-made for him that he became an automatic choice as a presenter," his crew members noted.
Being part of the Mediae family, Charli was said to have always been on a mission to make projects successful.
His Mediae family said he leaves behind a legacy of dedication and commitment to the growth of the industry that will always be in the present tense.
"The impression in our minds as people who worked with you and your acquaintances at the Mediae Company, the memory of you as a modest man; a real gentleman, not reluctant to organize and help others will remain in our hearts," they said.
