Wednesday will be a moment of truth for President William Ruto as MPs take the final vote on the Affordable Housing Bill, 2023.

The Bill sailed through the second reading on Tuesday after 141 lawmakers voted for it while 58 rejected it.

MPs drawn from the ruling Kenya Kwanza Alliance heeded President William Ruto’s call to hasten the passage of the Bill and sought the support of their allies from across the political divide to make it a reality.

The Bill has now moved to the third reading stage and is set to be given the nod or rejected in its entirety on Wednesday afternoon.

Day three of the National Executive Retreat in Naivasha

Wednesday marks the third day of the Cabinet retreat in Naivasha, Nakuru County.

The retreat is meant to evaluate the government’s achievements.

On Monday, President William Ruto, while opening the retreat, called for patience and reiterated his commitment to transforming Kenya.

He vowed not to relent in his ambition to make his tenure distinguished and remarkable in Kenya’s history and improve livelihoods.

House committee meets after audit report that showed Bungoma lost 1,200 water tanks worth Sh17.4m

The Decentralised Funds Accounts Committee meets over an audit report of Bungoma National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) accounts that saw the Bungoma County office lose 1200 water tanks worth Sh17.4 m meant for women groups.

NGAAF falls under the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs.

The fund supports the Government’s commitment to putting in place measures to redress past disadvantages among certain segments of the population.

What Sakaja’s Sh42.8 billion 2024-25 Budget entails

A look into Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja's Sh42.8 billion budget for the Financial Year 2024- 2025.

This is an increase of Sh2.1 billion of the current budget which is at Sh40.7 billion.

From the budget, Sh20.06 billion will be raised from the Own Source Revenue (internal revenue) and Sh20.9 billion from external revenue.

The six key own-source revenue streams include parking fees, rates, single business permits, house rents, building permits and billboards and adverts.
