In Summary

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki will operationalise the Kambu subcounty in Makueni and install its first Deputy County Commissioner.

Kambu is one of the new administrative units created by the CS through a Gazette notice dated February 14, 2024.

The notice outlined the establishment of 16 subcounties, two divisions, five locations, and seven sublocations.

Kindiki is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the Machakos County Security and Intelligence Committee in Machakos.

Launch of countrywide e-filing system

Chief Justice Martha Koome to launch countrywide e-filing, Data Tracking Dashboard and the Cause List Portal(court case timetable).

The electronic system was first launched by former Chief Justice David Maraga.

In March 2023, Chief Justice Martha Koome announced plans to introduce electronic case filing in all court stations across the country.

The event will be beamed live on Judiciary's Youtube and Facebook  platforms from 9 am on Monday.

ICT hub

ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo to preside over the launch of an ICT Hub at the Tinderet Integrated & Trainer's College in Nandi County.

Garissa varsity attack case

High Court is today set to hear a case in which a lobby has sued the government for compensation on behalf of 28 parents who lost their children in the 2015 Garissa University terror attack in which 148 people died.

Kituo cha Sheria filed the case on behalf of the victims.

It blames the government for negligence by not taking appropriate measures to enhance national security for its citizens.

The hearing will be heard by a three-judge bench presided over by Justice Anthony Ndungu.

Mudavadi in Denmark 

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is in Denmark to represent President William Ruto in the Denmark-Africa High-Level Dialogue Summit.

Mudavadi left the country on Sunday.

The summit is centred on the strengthened partnership between The Kingdom of Denmark and Africa.

It is themed, "Strengthened Partnership with Africa for Mutual Prosperity".
