Three people were separately killed in two fire incidents reported in Nairobi on Wednesday evening.
Property of unknown value was destroyed in the incidents.
Police say the cause of the fire incidents is yet to be known. The victims include an 18-year-old girl.
The first incident was reported in the Lungalunga area’s Jamaica village.
Police said about 40 iron sheet-made houses were burnt down and properties of unknown value were destroyed.
The fire was contained by the residents in the 11 pm incident before the bodies of two men aged 38 and 37 were discovered burnt beyond recognition.
Police identified them as Samuel Oyugi, 38 and Christopher Kariuki, 37.
The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
In Umoja Two area a fire broke out at a residential house on the first floor of an apartment.
The body of one Alice Murunga, 18 was discovered long after the fire had been contained.
The cause of the fire, which is believed to have started in the girl’s bedroom, was not immediately established, police said.
The body has been moved to Mama Lucy morgue awaiting autopsy.
Police said they are investigating the incidents with an aim of establishing the motive.
Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said the planned autopsy will tell how the victims died and give the direction of the probe.
"Our teams are on the ground to investigate the deaths. It is painful to lose such lives in such circumstances," he said.
Meanwhile, a woman was killed by a tree she and other villagers were pulling in Mbuwani village, Kwale county.
Police said the deceased Eunice Nduku Mwinzi was with three other people who were cutting and pulling trees when a tree fell on her.
The group was pulling the tree using a rope when the victim slipped and fell enabling the log to crush her.
Police said she suffered serious physical injuries on the head and both legs. She died on the spot.
The body was moved to Kwale County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation and postmortem.
The case is under probe for now, police said.
