Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria and his extended family gifted Azimio leader Raila Odinga a goat in a symbolic ceremony to bury the hatchet.
Kuria has previously made unpalatable statements against Raila and even ridiculed his presidential candidature in the past using savoury remarks.
However, in what Kuria on Sunday termed part of his public support for Raila's African Union Commission chairperson job bid, joined his family for a historic visit to Odinga's Karen home.
The landmark visit, the first of its kind in the country's political landscape comes days after he publicly said he will seek Raila's forgiveness over past outbursts.
"As part of the ongoing national support for my good friend Rt Hon Raila Odinga 's candidature for the position of African Union Commission Chair, today my mother Teresia, my wife Joyce, friends and I were treated to a sumptuous lunch by Mama Ida Odinga as we wished Baba good health, vitality and courage as he embarks on his journey," Kuria posted on his social media accounts on Sunday.
Without revealing details about the political reconciliation manifested by his visit to Raila, Kuria said he shared with Odinga key issues of continental interest.
"I also shared with Baba my perspectives on various AU initiatives including Africa Continental Free Trade Area, Africa 50, Agenda 2063 and ongoing conversation around converting the Kenya School of Government into the Africa School of Government as an AU Affiliate," he said.
Two weeks ago, Kuria said he was happy that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had openly asked for former First Lady Mama Ngina's forgiveness over the 2022 Presidential campaign crossfire.
He also said he was seeking reconciliation with Raila as part of national healing and reconciliation as the ODM leader seeks continental support for his AUC job bid.
“I want to thank and laud Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for leading in the rallying call on forgiveness. To those I have aggrieved in the past, including former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who I called on the same, I offer my unreserved due apologies. Let us focus our energies on nation-building," Kuria said.
Kuria made the remarks at Kaibaga in Nyandarua County during the burial ceremony of Mama Dorcas Muhihu, mother to Bishop JJ Gitahi.
The CS and Raila have had what could best be described as a bitter-sweet relationship with Kuria at one time saying anyone thinking they are enemies would be a fool.
While speaking on Citizen TV's JK Live on October 8, 2023, Kuria who was then the Trade CS said he has a good relationship with Raila outside politics but the only point of diversion was on the mass protests called by the Azimio boss then.
“I do not know how on earth someone could come between me and Raila Odinga. If you try to come between me and Raila Odinga, you will be a fool, because he is my friend,” Kuria said.
