The Kenya Union of Clinical Officers has postponed their weekly demonstration scheduled for Tuesday.
In a statement, KUCO General Secretary George Gibore said the postponement is to allow for negotiations.
"Tomorrow (Tuesday), we have scheduled a full day of negotiations, starting with a session in the morning with the Ministry of Health followed by an afternoon meeting with the Council of Governors," stated Gibore.
KUCO members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) are expected to participate in the negotiation process.
"We remain committed to addressing the pertinent issues at hand," Gibore assured.
The discussions are set to address pressing issues affecting clinical officers across the nation.
The KUCO further regretted any inconvenience caused by the change in schedule and further thanked members for their understanding and cooperation.
KUCO assured stakeholders of their continued commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of clinical officers, promising to provide updates on any further developments.
Clinicians downed towns at the beginning of April over what they termed as a failure by the government to address ten critical issues.
They included the pending implementation of the 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), the continued delay in salaries, increase in staffing levels, and promotions, and the failure to implement approved staffing arrangements for the interns.
