Azimio leader Raila Odinga has urged the young people to remian steadfast and push on their quest for a better country.

Raila noted that he would remain silent and let the Gen Zs lead the protests for a better Kenya as they had directed him.

He said he was told by the Gen Z to keep quiet and let them deal with all the issues and not involve himself and that is what he has done all this time.

Speaking during the burial of comedian Fred Omondi in Siaya County, on Saturday, Raila noted that he has keenly looked and seen that change is on the way.

He said the young people who have been on the streets are not only talking about the Finance Bill but a myriad of issues affecting Kenyans.

Raila said the people storming the Parliament showed that they had no confidence in the top three institutions in the country which includes the Executive, Judiciary and the Legislatures.

“We have seen what happened, the young people in numbers stormed Parliament, that is the biggest vote of no confidence in the Kenyan Republic, we have seen MPs who voted Yes what they have witnessed within their areas,” he said adding that there is a problem.

He noted that very many young Kenyans have good certificates and degrees but no jobs and they all go to the streets.

“As Azimio, we knew how to sort out these issues but they had hustlers, Mama mboga among others but when they reached there, they became clueless not knowing what to do or how to handle their promises," he said.

The ODM Chief urged the people to remain steadfast because he would soon talk on the same when the young people tell him they are through.

“Where I am still tied, but I will speak, only when am allowed, when the young people tell me they are through then I will talk," Raila said.

The ODM leader added that he would play his role and the people must also play their part in making Kenya better.
