Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai has said he is not remorseful about his 'yes' vote on Finance Bill 2024.

Speaking at a roadside stopover, he said his decision was influenced by the developments the bill would have brought to his people.

"Nilivote yes kwa sababu nilijua nikivote yes itakuja na hii barabara (I voted yes because I knew we would have roads) he said.

He added that his positive vote was because of his deep understanding of the Bill which he said he read on behalf of the people.

He expressed his sympathy for Molo MP Kuria Kimani whose house was burned down following anti-Finance Bill protests.

He said the Molo constituency ranks as one of the most developed constituencies due to Kuria Kimani's efforts.

"Hakuna barabara haijatengenezwa Molo, hakua mahali stima haijasambazwa," he claimed.

Mutai expressed his disappointment in the people who torched down Kuria Kimani's homestead saying that was very unfortunate despite his developmental efforts in the constituency.

He called on clerics to visit Kuria's home and pray because what happened to him was evil.

"Nataka mapastor wote, hata wale wa Kuresoi waende huko wamuombee," he said.

Properties of unknown value were Tuesday vandalised at the home of Molo MP and National Assembly Finance Committee chair Kuria Kimani.

Irate demonstrators breached the perimeter wall surrounding the multi-million house, burnt and destroyed cars even as others looted the house of valuables.

Some of those who invaded the home walked away with animals too.
