A 26-year-old female university student was found dead in her house in Embu Town.

Police said Damaris Kanyua was a student at the local University of Embu.

The body was found lying on a mattress that was on the floor. She stayed alone in the house.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Police said they are investigating the incident.

In the Msambweni area, Kwale County, a 43-year-old bar attendant was found dead in her house.

Police said the body of Hannah Wanjiru Mwangi was discovered in her bed long after she had died.

The woman worked at a local bar, police said.

The body was found on Tuesday evening in her bedroom at a rented house.

The body had no visible injuries at the time of the discovery, police and witnesses said.

The body was moved to the local mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Elsewhere in the Makongeni area, Nairobi, a security guard with a private firm was found dead in his house.

Police said Joshua Onana’s body was discovered Wednesday evening long after he had failed to report to work and respond to his calls.

A relative visited him at his house where the body of Onana, 32 was discovered dead in bed.

The cause of the death is yet to be known. Police were called to the scene and helped to move the body to the mortuary pending autopsy.

Homicide detectives visited the scenes where the three bodies were separately discovered as part of the probe into same.

Cases of sudden deaths have been on the rise amid calls on relatives and friends to always check on their friends and loved ones.

Some of the cases are pending under probe and remain unsolved. Others have been solved after it was established the victims died of natural causes.
