President William Ruto has officially opened the Njoro Technical Training Institute.

He was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Beneficiaries of the institution have said that the digital hub which is the main focus of the institution, will help them monetize the digital skills they will acquire through training.

Some students have informed the President that they are already earning through Upwork and Remotasks.

"The government will provide the students with internet through fiber optics to ensure that they do not experience internet dysconnectivity during their learning," Ruto said.

A TVET official said sometimes the internet is interrupted.

"Additionally, he has said that the government will provide the TVET institution with more computers to ensure more students are equipped with digital skills," Ruto said.

“We will ensure that we add the institution's additional computers to enable all the students to acquire digital skills.”

Over 50 students have received digital skills training in the institution for the last week through the help of trained TVET officials.

The President also promised to negotiate back Remotask (an online work platform) and ensure that the pay rate goes higher than the current one.

Speaking during the event, Ruto also promised farmers that a litre of milk will retail at not less than 50 shillings.

The President inspected the Nakuru Ultra-modern market and Nakuru bus terminus earlier today.

He also donated a bus to the Ngata Welfare Association to ease their transport activities.
