WHO road safety report

The annual World Health Organization's Road Safety Status Report will today be launched.

The event will take place at the Serena Hotel.

The report reveals a worrying trend: road traffic death rates have surged over the past decade, with nearly 12,000 lives lost on Kenyan roads in 2023.

(The 4,000 usually mentioned by NTSA are those who die the same day, but WHO counts those who die within 30 days of the accident.

MP Oluoch case

The hearing of the incitement case against Mathare MP Antony Olouch has been set for today.

Oluoch and two Nairobi MCAs were in July last year charged with conspiracy to commit subversive activities against the law by inciting members of the public to demonstrate.

Former minister case

A case in which the widow of former Finance Minister Arthur Magugu has accused investigators of sitting on her complaint in a Sh17 billion property dispute is to be mentioned today.

Margaret Wairimu says it has been six years since she filed the complaint against Karura Investment Limited accusing it of fraud but the investigative agencies have never pursued the matter.
