KTDA fertiliser

Agriculture Principal Secretary Paul Rono will receive the first tea fertilizer shipment at KPA in Mombasa.

The consignment of 47,000 metric tonnes is set to be distributed to small-scale tea farmers across the country ahead of the short rains.

Public participation Bill, AG to hold stakeholder forum

The office of the Attorney General will today hold a consultative breakfast meeting with stakeholders to launch the development of the legislation on public participation.

The event will be held at the Kenya School of Government, Lower Kabete Campus.

Education CS to appear before parliament

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba is scheduled to appear before the MPs this afternoon.

He is set to address issues of concern in the education sector including incidents of school fires and unrest across the country, and the general safety of learners.

This is mainly on the tragic incident at the Hillside Academy.

"This incident represents a tragic loss to the nation and the House must be fully apprised of its cause and the remedial measures proposed to be taken by the Ministry," National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula said.

Seafarers welfare

The Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, State Department for Shipping and Maritime Affairs will hold a press briefing concerning the Seafarer's welfare.

Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua recently constituted the Seafarers Wages Council.

Workers will be presented by COTU representatives Atie Swaleh, David Kibuyu and Bruno Otiato.

Employers will be represented by FKE representatives Naum Tororei, Stephine Obiro, and Bwanaheri Lali.

Mutua also nominated Hamisi Banton to represent the Ministry of Labour.

National Wage Council is a body established under the Labour Institutions Act to provide advice to the government on minimum wage and other wage-related issues.
