Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale will on Thursday preside over Mazingira Day.
The National celebration will be at the Nairobi Arboretum, and it will commence at 7am.
"To celebrate the day, Kenyans should participate in environmental conservation initiatives," he said.
"The initiatives include clean-up activities to rid the environment of unwanted waste from homes, roads, parks, beaches and any other areas that require clean-up."
The CS said that the day calls for urgent meaningful actions from both government and citizens to ensure prosperity and sustainability of the environment for present and future generations.
Duale will be accompanied by Forestry Principal Secretary Gitonga Mugambi, alongside other senior government officials.
The CS encouraged the public to participate in environmental conservation activities such as tree planting and clean-ups in their local communities to mark this year's Mazingira Day.
"Wananchi are encouraged to engage in environmental conservation activities in their neighborhoods including tree growing and clean-ups to mark this year's Mazingira," a statement from the ministry said.
