The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority has reduced fuel prices by Sh8.18 per litre.

In the October-November price review, the fuel price for Super Petrol was reduced by Sh8.18 per litre, Diesel at Sh3.54 per litre and Sh3.54 per litre. for kerosine.

The new fuel prices will take effect from October 15 to November 14, 2024.

Epra said the prices are inclusive of the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.

“The average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreased by 8.59 per cent from US$697.62 per cubic metre in August 2024 to US$637.70 per cubic metre in September 2024; Diesel decreased by 5.52 per cent from US$673.36 per cubic metre to US$636.22 per cubic metre while Kerosene decreased by 6.73 per cent from US$668.34 per cubic metre to US$623.39 per cubic metre,” the statement reads.

Epra said that Kenya currently imports all its petroleum product requirements in refined form, and the products are traded in international markets based on a pricing benchmark.

Starting at midnight, Super Petrol will retail at Sh180.66, Diesel at Sh168.06, and Kerosene at Sh151.39 in Nairobi.

In Mombasa, Super Petrol will retail at Sh177.42, Diesel at Sh164.82, and Kerosene at Sh148.15. In Nakuru, Super Petrol will retail at Sh179.87, Diesel at Sh167.63 and Kerosene at Sh151.01.

Super Petrol will retail at Sh180.68, Diesel at Sh168.45 and Kerosene at Sh151.82 in Eldoret.
