Chief of  Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Kosgei has gazetted a 23-member committee to oversee the organisation of the swearing-in ceremony of Deputy President Designate Kithure Kindiki.

The Assumption of the Office of the Deputy President  Committee is in accordance with the Assumption of the Office of the President Act.

The 23-member committee has the Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau, as the chairperson. The members include Attornery General Dorcas Oduor,  Interior PS Raymond Omollo, Winfridah Mokaya(Chief Registrar of Judiciary), Julius Bitok(PS Catete Department for Citizen Services), Patrick Mairu(PS Defence),  Chris Kiptoo(PS National Treasury),  Korir Singoei(PS Foreign Affairs),  Edward Kisiangani (PS Information and Broadcasting), Idris Dakota(PS Cabinet Affairs), Teresiah Mbaika(PS Devolution), Ummi Bashir(PS Culture).

Others are General Charles Kahariri (Chief of Defence Forces),  Noordin Haji(NIS boss), Douglas Kanja(Police IG), Arthur Osiya( PS Executive Office of the President), Samuel Njoroge(Clerk, National Assembly),  Jeremiah Nyengeye (Clerk, Senate), Hassan Omar, Kabale Tache,  Bernice Sialal, Patrick Mwangi and Kipchuma Karori as joint secretaries.

Kosgei said the committee has been formed following a three-judge bench ruling on Thursday that lifted orders barring the swearing-in of Kindiki.
