Republican candidate Donald Trump now says God spared his life with the purpose of using him to save America.

Giving a victory speech in Florida on Wednesday, Trump said it is time America was restored to its greatness.

"God spared my life for a reason. That reason was to save our country and restore America to greatness," he said.

Trump said he will fulfill the reason, noting that the task ahead is not easy.

He however stated that he would "bring every ounce" of energy and spirit into realising the reason.

He assured Americans that he will prove that their choice was not in vain.

Trump has had two assassination attempts since the presidential campaigns began.

On July 13, 2024, Trump survived an assassination attempt while speaking at an open-air campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump was shot and wounded in his upper right air by Thomas Matthew Crooks.

The 20-year-old fired eight rounds from the roof of a nearby building.

Crook also killed one of the audience members and critically injured two others.

He was shot and killed by the United States Secret Service’s County Sniper Team.

Two months later on September 15, trump survived yet another assassination attempt while golfing at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

A suspect, later identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was spotted hiding in nearby shrubbery while aiming a rifle at a member of Trump's security detail.

A secret service agent fired upon Routh, who fled the scene and was later captured in Martin County.

No injuries were reported.

Officials said Routh had written a note months ago saying he intended to kill Trump.

Addressing his supporters on Wednesday, Trump said as it was during the first time when he became the 45th President of the United States of America, he will be guided by a single model, 'Promises made, promises kept'.

"We are going to keep our promises. Nothing will stop me from keeping my word to you," he said.

He asked citizens from across the states to join him to heal America and restore its greatness.

"It is time to unite. We have to try and it is going to happen. Success will bring us together, “he said.

Trump urged all Americans to put their country first at least till it heals.

"I will not let you down. America's future will be broader, bigger, better, safer, stronger and safer than it has ever been before," Trump said.
