A 55-year-old man is nursing injuries after his 53-year-old wife allegedly broke his leg in Masinga, Machakos County.

Nzukini Assistant Chief Peter Mutuva said the man's leg got broken after it was hit by the wife during a fight between them on Thursday morning.

The incident happened at Kwa Mumela village in Nzukini Sublocation, Ekalakala location within Masinga Subcounty.

Eyewitnesses said the fight ensued after the woman allegedly ordered the husband to go and fetch water, but he declined.

"There was a disagreement between the couple after the woman ordered her husband to go out and fetch water for domestic usage, but he declined," one of the witnesses told the Star on the phone hours after the incident.

Video footage of the incident seen by the Star shows the man writhing in pain as some residents carry him into a waiting motor vehicle to the hospital.

Mutuva said the victim was rushed to Matuu Level 4 Hospital for medication.

It wasn't clear whether the woman had been arrested by press time.
