Former Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru now says that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua paid the price for their generations.

Speaking at Priesthood Fellowship Church in Kahawa West, Nairobi, where she had accompanied Gachagua and his spouse for a church service, Waruguru said the former DP had paid the price just like other leaders who had come before him from the Mt Kenya region.

She insisted that nothing good comes out of anything if one is not ready to face the consequences that come with it.

The former Woman Rep added that Gachagua should always know that he is not on his own.

“There's nothing good that will come if you're not ready to pay a price. You've paid a price for my generation. Mzee Kibaki paid a price some 20 years ago, Uhuru Kenyatta paid his price. I want to tell you my brother that you are not alone,” Waruguru said.

She went on to say the fact that people from the region are quiet does not mean they do not know what is going on in the country.

Waruguru further stated that they will not allow anyone to incite the community against other communities within Kenya.

She added that the Mt Kenya region will also not fall for any tricks that may lead to incitement.

“When you see these people quiet, they are not quiet because they don’t know what is happening in this country. We are not going to allow you take us through that path of incitement, making ridicule of our community. Nobody is going to incite us against our community,” she added.

Waruguru is among leaders from the larger Mt Kenya region who have publicly sided with Gachagua even before his impeachment as Deputy President.

Other leaders who accompanied Gachagua include MPs John Gakuya (Embakasi North), MejjaDonk Gathiru (Embakasi Central), among others.
