Police are investigating an incident in which a Form One boy died after drowning in a local river in Nyeri Central.
The boy, aged 15 years had gone swimming with other students when the tragic accident happened.
Police retrieved the body with the help of local divers.
The body was moved to Nyeri Hospital mortuary pending autopsy
In a similar case, a body of a girl aged seven years was retrieved from a river by local residents of Uriri area.
Police said the body, which had no physical injuries was transferred to Migori Level 5 Hospital awaiting preservation and autopsy.
Elsewhere, in an unrelated case, a herder lost 60 camels to gunmen in Isiolo.
In the incident that happened on Tuesday, Siyad Ali, a resident of the Safi area reported that a group of men who were armed with firearms raided his homestead and stole 60 camels.
Police responded immediately and are pursuing the bandits to recover the stolen animals.
In another theft incident in Kajiado County, Pereru ole Tago, a resident of Ilturot village reported that he was heading to the goats' shed to milk when he noticed 15 goats were missing.
He told the police that he suspected them to have been stolen during night hours.
Police established that the goats had been stolen from their shelter which was secured with thorn-tree branches.
Efforts to trace the goats are underway.
