Sixteen people were Tuesday evening injured following a fire
incident at Kitui village in Majengo, Nairobi.
The Red Cross said in an update dozens of households were
affected by the inferno.
"Together with the Nairobi City County Fire Department and
community members, we have managed to contain a fire incident in Kitui Village,
Majengo, Nairobi,” the agency said.
"Around 50 households were affected and 16 people sustained
minor injuries, all of whom were treated by Kenya Red Cross. The Kenya Red
Cross remains on-site, supporting efforts to locate missing persons," Red Cross said in an update.
The news broke even as heavy rains were pounding Nairobi and its environs.

He said the rains would be heavy in some parts, ranging between 20-50mm.
