Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Nelson Havi now
says that former President Uhuru Kenyatta no longer represents the vote-rich Mt
Kenya region.
According to Havi, the former President has only one vote.
He went on to say that even with President William Ruto, it would still be difficult for them to have control of the region.
The lawyer said that the two leaders have both lost support from Mt Kenya.
“There is nothing former President Uhuru Kenyatta and President William Ruto can do to recover the Mountain. The Mountain has moved," Havi stated during an interview on Citizen TV on Wednesday.
“I could be wrong, but Uhuru Kenyatta only has one vote and is no longer representative of the Mt Kenya vote.”
He further questioned the current talk of a possible coalition after their Monday meeting in Ichaweri, Gatundu.
Havi insisted that the people of Kenya must be told the truth about all the things they plan to do.
“There is talk of a further coalition government above the coalition of Ruto and Raila Odinga but to what end? the former Law Society of Kenya president questioned.
“These three people have tried this thing before and Kenyans must be informed of nefarious schemes and reorganizations.”
Havi’s remarks follow Ruto and Uhuru’s meeting on Monday, where they discussed, among others, matters of national importance.
The private meeting between Uhuru and Ruto came as a surprise to many Kenyans.
Raila’s candidature for the African Union Commission chairmanship bid was also discussed in the private meeting held at Uhuru’s home.
Following the meeting, there is speculation that Uhuru and Ruto could be forming a coalition government.
President Ruto said he has reached out to the former President and the former Prime Minister to unite the country.
He added that he will continue to reach out to many more leaders to have a united country.
