Ruto leads leaders in mourning Weta's mother
Mama Anne Nanyama Wetang'ula died on Friday.

Mama Anne Nanyama Wetang'ula, who is also the mother of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula died on Friday.
"After a prolonged period of illness, Mama peacefully rested, bringing to an end a remarkable life defined by love, sacrifice, and unwavering faith," Wanyonyi said.
"Mayi Anne was more than a mother to me - she was a mentor, a source of strength, and a guiding light. Her wisdom, kindness, and prayers sustained me through every season of life. Her legacy of compassion and humility will forever remain with me," he added.
He asked for prayers during this difficult time.
"As we come to terms with this painful loss, I humbly ask for your prayers and support for my family during this difficult time. May Mama's soul rest in eternal peace and may her memory continue to inspire us to live with love, patience, and purpose."
On Friday, President William Ruto led the mourning of her death.
"Our condolences to Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Mheshimiwa Timothy Wanyonyi for the loss of your dear mother," Ruto said in a post on X.
Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka also eulogised the late family matriarch as a "remarkable community mobiliser and mentor."
Lusaka sent his condolence messages to Wanyonyi and Wetang'ula.
Senate Speaker Amason Kingi mourned Mama Nanyama saying her death had plunged the Parliament of Kenya and indeed, the entire country into deep mourning.
