President William Ruto has arrived in Accra, Ghana ahead of the inauguration ceremony of Ghana's President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
Ruto was received with a bouquet and met outgoing Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo.
The
President’s attendance was through a special invitation extended by Mahama
during his trip to Kenya on December 29, 2024.
He will hold talks with President-elect Mahama on key areas of mutual interest and cooperation including trade, energy, oil, textiles, agriculture and diplomatic relations.
Mahama won the presidential election in December with 56 per cent of the vote, defeating Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia who earned 41 per cent.
Ruto flew out on Monday evening.
