President William Ruto is mourning the death of Meru Governor
Kawira Mwangaza’s brother Eric Kimathi, who was popularly known as Steroo.
In a statement, Ruto described Steroo as an enterprising young man who changed the lives of many people.
He went on to say that Steroo was a kind and hardworking individual who had many great ideas.
The President prayed for God’s comfort even as the family comes to terms with his death.
“We celebrate the life of an enterprising man with great ideas that changed the lives of many people. Eric Kimathi ‘Steroo’ — brother to Governor Kawira Mwangaza — was kind, hardworking and progressive. Our thoughts are with the family at this tough time. Rest in Peace, Steroo,” Ruto said.
His remarks come a few hours after he also condoled with the family of Meru Deputy Governor Isaac M'Ethingia following the death of his mother.
In his message of solace, the President described Mama Joyce as God-fearing and wished her family God's comfort as they mourned her demise.
"Our condolences to Meru Deputy Governor Isaac M'Ethingia for the loss of his dear mother, Joyce. She was a responsible, God-fearing, and progressive lady who was dedicated to serving the community," Ruto said.
"May God comfort the family and the people of Meru at this sad time. Rest in Peace."
Steroo died on Friday last week.
His death was announced by her sister Mwangaza through her social media pages.
The burial is set for Saturday, January 18, 2025.
“Devastated to announce the death of my beloved brother Erick Kimathi (Stero) today Morning 10 January 2025 after a long illness. So valiantly you fought.
