Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Wednesday met the President of Namibia, Nangolo Mbumba, even as he intensifies his African Union Commission chairmanship campaigns.
According to Raila, they discussed his plan for the continent, and also sought Mbumba’s support in the upcoming polls.
“We thank H.E President Dr Nangolo Mbumba of Namibia for hosting us at Statehouse in Windhoek. We used the opportunity discuss our African Agenda and my African Union Chairmanship candidature,” Raila said.
The meeting comes a day after he met with the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, who promised to support Raila’s bid.
The AUC chairman election are set for February 25, 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
