Deputy President Kithure Kindiki now says that the government, under the leadership of President William Ruto is fully focused on growing sectors that give the highest benefits to the majority of Kenyans.
Speaking on Wednesday, Kindiki said the President’s concentration is on issues that affect ordinary Kenyans and those that will improve their lives and incomes.
These areas he said include value chains are in Agriculture, Livestock, Blue Economy, Fisheries, and Mining, among other sectors.
He added that top of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s priority is how to add more money into the pockets of citizens.
“The President has said that his administration is concentrating on improving sectors that bring the highest benefits to the majority of Kenyans. These value chains are in Agriculture, Livestock, Blue Economy, Fisheries, Mining and other sectors and that is what has brought him to Busia today.
“This is why the President has launched this project that will ensure rice farmers earn more and that is what the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda is all about. The government is intensifying efforts in Agriculture, Mining, Blue Economy, and Fishing to improve the yields and increase earnings for all Kenyans,” Kindiki said.
He spoke during the launch of Lower Nzoia Irrigation Project Phase 1-Lot 2, in Budalangi, Busia County.
The Deputy President added that the current administration is also supporting the infrastructure to boost the value chains bringing prosperity to the people.
He said this is why there is increased efforts to see to it that there are better roads and facilities that can facilitate the production of quality yields.
“That is why he is improving roads, electricity expansion, county aggregation centres, industrial parks and also special economic zones.”
Kindiki added that the government is also investing in the social sector, especially in education and health.
He added that they are transforming the health sector to make sure many people have insurance that will save people from becoming poor from high hospital expenditures.
The DP further stated that investing in education will facilitate access to affordable, relevant and quality education by all Kenyan children.
