President William Ruto now says that it is his job to unite and develop the country and that no one will stand in his way.
Speaking in Bungoma on Friday, Ruto insisted that no community, region, religion, or person will be left behind in his quest to make the country better.
The president went on to say that he will work with all leaders to forge a united front and create prosperity for the country.
Ruto said that he will not be distracted or blackmailed from doing his job.
He added that he must ensure he makes a country everyone will be proud of in the long run.
“There is no community in Kenya that is going to be isolated for whatever reason. There is no region that will not take part in the development of the country.
"There is no religion that is going to be shunned or left outside. I have a responsibility as president and leader of this country to bring all our communities and regions together and work with all leaders so that we can forge a united front so that we can create prosperity, jobs, and wealth for our people.
“Make sure there is correct healthcare and create a prosperous nation where all of us will be proud to call home, and that is my mission. I will not be distracted, dissuaded, or blackmailed, and nobody is going to stand in the way,” Ruto said.
The Head of State reiterated that Kenya of today has no place for the politics of ethnicity.
His remarks are seen as him hitting back at leaders who continue to play regional politics in what he terms as a modern Kenya.
Ruto has been on a five-day tour of the larger Western Kenya region, where he has been launching development projects including markets, roads and last-mile electrification programmes.
