Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured President William Ruto of his support and that of other leaders in developing the nation.

Kindiki said that Ruto's government is development-oriented serving all Kenyans.

Speaking on Wednesday in Luanda, Vihiga county, the DP added the state is an all-encompassing government-only focused on service delivery.

"For those keen on dividing Kenyans, we are telling them we are not interested in tribal and divisive engagements. The President is focused on enhancing Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing, Mining and all sectors including boosting the economy to ensure our youths are employed," Kindiki said.

"Together with fellow leaders Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula and others, we are solidly behind the President as he leads in developing every part of our country."

Kindiki said that to turn around the economic fortunes of Kenyans, the government is constructing over 400 safe and secure modern markets across the Country where traders, farmers and customers can transact in dignity.

He said that one such market is the Luanda Modern Market in Vihiga County, whose construction costs Sh365 million.

"Luanda Modern Market once completed and operational, will accommodate more than 1,000 traders. It will include among other amenities, cold rooms and storage facilities to curb the wastage of farm produce and enable farmers and traders to fetch favourable prices," he said.

Kindiki who is accompanying President Ruto on a development tour in the Western Region said the government is fully focused on growing sectors that give the highest benefits to the majority of Kenyans.

Kindiki said the President’s concentration is on issues that affect ordinary Kenyans and those that will improve their lives and incomes.

These areas he said include value chains in Agriculture, Livestock, Blue Economy, Fisheries, and Mining, among other sectors.

He added that the top of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s priority is how to add more money into the pockets of citizens.

“The President has said that his administration is concentrating on improving sectors that bring the highest benefits to the majority of Kenyans. These value chains are in Agriculture, Livestock, Blue Economy, Fisheries, Mining and other sectors and that is what has brought him to Busia today.

“This is why the President has launched this project that will ensure rice farmers earn more and that is what the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda is all about. The government is intensifying efforts in Agriculture, Mining, Blue Economy, and Fishing to improve the yields and increase earnings for all Kenyans,” Kindiki said.
