Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has affirmed that the opposition is still in place and is strong.
“We have come to tell you that opposition is still in place. We shall not accept the country to go on the wrong path,” Kalonzo said on Sunday when he addressed Dagoretti residents.
“We pray for the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to bag the AUC chairmanship bid. If he gets it, in the next election those who are remaining to go head-on for the top seat.
The Wiper leader was accompanied by Nairobi Senator and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna among other leaders.
The leaders affirmed that they will continue fighting for the rights of Kenyans.
In 2024, Kalonzo said those like him who remain in the Azimio coalition will continue to side with the people of Kenya in calling for better governance.
“Those of us remaining in Azimio believe that we will continue to be on the people's side, and that's why we have said that we are the people's loyal opposition.”
On his part, Sifuna fired a warning to members of the Orange Democratic Party who were thinking of leaving the party.
The SG affirmed that he is in ODM to stay and those who feel tired of fighting for Kenyans can leave the party.
Speaking on Sunday during a Church Service, Sifuna said that some members have forgotten what the party stands for.
“There are people in the ODM party who have forgotten where the party came from and what it stands for. Others are telling me that they are now tired of speaking for Kenyans, they are saying they were not born to stay in the opposition. They are saying they are tired of fighting for the rights of Kenyans,” Sifuna said.
“I want to tell them that I will continue standing for the truth if something is not going on well, It is bad and we shall speak it however it is. Those who feel like they are tired of fighting for Kenyans and standing for the truth should just leave ODM."
Sifuna said that the journey to liberate a country is not an easy task and it may take a while to achieve.
“Some of you have joined ODM the other day, two weeks before nomination and you are already tired saying that you want to join the government,” he said.
