Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Monday graced the opening of the new Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) headquarters.
In a video seen by the Star, Gachagua was received by the party leader Eugene Wamalwa.
The two were accompanied by among other Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka and former United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malala, Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and Journalist Tony Gachoka, among others.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is also present.
Malala has remained to be a strong ally of Gachagua after they were both kicked out of the ruling party ranks.
The meeting signals formation of an alliance between the former DP and a host of Opposition parties majority of which were in the Azimio Coalition.
Gachagua, who was recently kicked out as the UDA deputy party leader is expected to unveil his political party next month.
The meeting comes barely three days after Gachagua met with Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua just days after Karua rebranded Narc Kenya into the People's Liberation Party (PLP)
Gachagua said that he had come to the realisation, that as much as political rivalry might frequently overshadow the possibility of collaboration, there are always opportunities to work together.
Speaking at Karua's home, Gachagua said Martha’s dedication to public service and tireless fight for justice had earned his respect.
"This is despite the fact that we often find ourselves on opposite ends of the political spectrum,'' Gachagua said.
Karua said they will be putting the people first in all the steps they will make.
"I salute your courage and resilience in the face of adversity, qualities that we need as we fulfil our joint commitment to rally together leaders from across the nation, to address the many challenges facing the people of Kenya,'' Karua said.
The former DP expressed joy saying he will be a happy man for uniting with the Narc Kenya Party leader.
Gachagua said that Karua has the necessary experience, and courage and will help the Mt Kenya region move forward.
