Pressure continues to pile on Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi to resign.

Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo onTuesdayjoined the list of lawmakers, urging the former Attorney General and House Speaker to call it day.

According to the lawmaker, Muturi’s criticism of top security agencies is not good coming from someone who sits in the Cabinet.

“Kenya is at a critical moment in its democratic and governance journey. While we face challenges—economic, political, and institutional—what remains clear is that strong and functional institutions are our best bet for stability and progress,” Elisha said.

The MP said there were better means to address the same away from the public statements.

“It is therefore outrageous that a senior government official, now serving as the Cabinet Secretary has taken it upon himself to question one of these institutions in government.”

“His remarks on the NIS, an agency mandated to protect Kenya from both internal and external threats, are not just irresponsible—they are dangerous.”

The lawmaker told Muturi to resign and earn the respect of Kenyans.

"He should resign and take his fight to the opposition benches,” Elisha said.

“He must either align with government reform efforts or step aside.”

Muturi onSundaysustained his attack on the government, demanding the establishment of a commission of inquiry to probe alleged enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the country.

Muturi said it should no longer be taken as normal that young Kenyans are being killed and no action is being taken to fully address the matter.

“We cannot take it as business as usual. We must address this matter to its finality with a view to getting to the root cause of it,” Muturi told the press at City Mortuary, where he had joined the families of the two Mlolongo victims.

He cautioned that if left unchecked, such acts could plunge the country into anarchy and chaos even as he reaffirmed that there is no policy in government that supports abductions and killings.
