The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has condemned the recent attacks on match officials and security personnel by unruly fans after another video went viral this week.
In a statement, the Federation said such behaviour has no place in sports and those responsible will be punished according to the law.
It said concerned committees will hold sittings to review the cases and take appropriate action.
“FKF strongly condemns any form of hooliganism, including attacks on match officials and security personnel. Such incidents have no place in football, and individuals found culpable will face strict disciplinary action.
“The relevant FKF committees will convene to review recent cases and take appropriate measures in line with established regulations,” FKF said.
The football governing body insisted that it will continue to create a fair and safe environment for all stakeholders in the sport.
“Football Kenya Federation (FKF) acknowledges the concerns raised regarding the standard of officiating in our leagues. We recognise the crucial role referees play in upholding fairness and the integrity of the game.”
The statement follows a viral video where a fan stormed the pitch during an ongoing match between Migori Youth FC and Nairobi United.
He confronted the referee over how he was officiating the game after his club conceded a second goal.
He then tried attacking the referee and his assistants even as players and police officers providing security tried to intervene unsuccessfully.
At one point he is seen charging at a policewoman who had pulled the referee away from the confrontation and went on to kick the female officer.
As two male police officers intervened, the fan was then seen pointing fingers at them in what seemed like sounding a warning at them.
