National Police Service Commission announces 149 jobs

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has advertised 149 job vacancies.

In a notice published in Thursday’s daily, NPSC invited interested applicants to apply for the various positions on or before February 21, 2025, at 5 pm.

The vacancies include Director, information, communication, technology (ICT), Director, finance and administration, Deputy Director, finance and accounts, Manager, internal audit, Manager, administration and Manager, supply chain management.

The Commission is also looking for 20 persons to fill the office of senior counsellor, counsellor II (20), human capital management officer II (10), human capital management assistant (8), record management officer II (8) and record management officer III (6).

Other positions are social worker II (10), social worker III (6), information officer II (6), finance officer II (3), economist II (3), account assistants III (8), ICT officer II (6), ICT officer III (4), supply chain management officer II (4), supply chain management assistant (4), clerical officer II (10) and office assistants (7).

The Commission stated that the shortlisted candidates should bring their original certificates for verification during the interview.

Further, the shortlisted candidates for managerial positions and above will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution by obtaining clearance certificates from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), CRB, and DCI.

The NPSC is an independent body established to oversee the management of the National Police Service (NPS).

Its primary function is to ensure that the police service operates effectively, efficiently, and in a manner that is accountable to the public

NPSC is responsible for the recruitment, promotion, and discipline of police officers, monitoring and evaluation of the performance of police officers and establishing standards and policies that guide the operations of the police service, ensuring that the force functions within the framework of the law.

The Commission also promotes accountability and transparency in the police service, advises the President on matters concerning the NPS, and investigates the welfare and working conditions of police officers, ensuring they are adequately supported and equipped to carry out their duties.
