Nairobi's Uhuru Park has been named the most-reviewed park in the country, according to the latest data released byGoogle Maps.
It is followed closely by Nairobi National Park located along Lang’ata Road just 8 kilometres from Nairobi’s Central Business District.
The data was released during the 20th anniversary of Google Maps, a tool that has revolutionised the way people navigate the world and discover new places.
Parks outside Nairobi that were highly reviewed include Tsavo East National Park and Mount Kenya National Park which came in third and fourth place respectively.
Mombasa’s Haller Park ranks fifth countrywide followed by Ngong Road Forest Sanctuary which has been ranked sixth countrywide.
Seventh on the list is the Lake Nakuru National Park located in Nakuru County famously known for flamingoes.
The Aberdare National Park ranks eighth with theAugust 7th Memorial Park in Nairobi being ranked in the ninth place.
Amboseli National Park located in Loitoktok in Kajiado County was ranked 10th among the most reviewed parks in the country.
Over the past two decades, Google Maps has evolved from a basic navigation app to a powerful resource, providing real-time traffic updates, turn-by-turn directions and even immersive 3D views of famous landmarks and cities worldwide.
In a statement, Google Maps highlighted the evolution of its service, emphasising that it has become much more than just a mapping tool.
“It’s a vibrant community that shares knowledge and experiences from around the globe," it said.
"With over100 million updatesmade to the map each day, we’re committed to showing you the freshest and most comprehensive information possible, so you can get around with confidence.”
Google Maps also noted that the data is ideal for creating travel features, weekend getaway guides and for promoting local businesses.
