Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has eulogised late Malava MP Malulu Injendi as a steadfast, visionary, respectful and dutifully firm leader.
Mudavadi said the late Malulu was a unifying leader who continuously supported initiatives that were geared towards improving the lives of his constituents and bringing Kenyans together.
He went on to say that he had also lost a friend and brother.
“Malulu was a man of honour, his word was his word. When he meant yes, that remained his stand; if he said I will support a certain course, he never changed and when he said no, he had spoken his mind,” said Mudavadi.
“I have lost a friend and a brother. People used to tease us sometimes that we look alike.”
The Prime CS spoke when he visited the late legislator’s family to condole with them at their South C home in Nairobi.
Mudavadi had earlier in the day visited Lee Funeral Home to view the remains of a man he has described as a dear friend and long-time colleague.
He said that it is through Malulu that his friendship with the people of Malava solidified, as he urged them to remain united even in his absence.
He added that as the country and the people of Malava mourn the Malulu, all must uphold respect for the legislator and the family.
“My partnership with the people of Malava was very solid through Malulu. He spoke very resolutely, and I admired his charisma. I want to assure the family and my good people of Malava that moving forward, we shall remain united and peaceful as we walk together and support one another as we have done before,” Mudavadi added.
The Malava lawmaker passed away on Monday after a short illness. He will be laid to rest on March 4, 2025.
Until his death, he was the Vice Chairman of the Education Committee in the National Assembly.
