The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has announced the automation of the self-declaration process.
In a notice seen by the Star, EACC Chief Executive Abdi Mohamud said the online system will allow users to fill and submit their self-declaration forms digitally.
“EACC wishes to bring to the attention of the general public that it has automated the process of filling and submitting the Self-Declaration Form. All persons from whom a Self-Declaration is required may access and fill the form online,” he stated.
The move is expected to make the process easier for individuals seeking state or public office to comply with integrity requirements.
The forms for the process were previously filled manually.
Self-declaration requirement for public office holders is provided for under Sections 12A and 13(2) of the Leadership and Integrity Act.
It applies to individuals seeking election or appointment to state or public offices.
The form is now accessible through the EACC website at www.eacc.go.ke or directly via the Adili portal at https://adili.eacc.go.ke.
EACC has urged the public to take advantage of the digital process to streamline compliance.
To use the system, EACC said applicants must first create an account, verify their details via email and SMS, and complete the required sections.
The form must then be printed and commissioned by a Commissioner for Oaths or a Magistrate, then scanned and uploaded back onto the system for processing.
Upon submission, an automatic acknowledgment receipt is
generated, which may be used to support an application.
