Donald Trump has selected Florida congressman Michael Waltz as the next National Security Advisor, two sources familiar with the matter told CBS News, the BBC's US news partner.
Waltz is a long-time Trump supporter who last week won re-election for what would have been his third term in Congress.
It comes as Trump continues to make more key appointments ahead of his return to the White House in January.
Loyalists of the president-elect, including Lee Zeldin, one of his staunchest impeachment defenders, and Tom Homan, who served in his last administration, have been tapped for top roles in climate and immigration.
