Stonebwoy’s new single "Jejereje" is finally out.
“Jejereje,” a popular saying that translates to “one’s cup of tea" suggesting a person’s actions will determine their fate.
The song tells the lively tale of Kofi, a Friday-born boy whose rebellious spirit leads him into endless trouble.
The song masterfully blends the old with the new by marrying traditional African storytelling with contemporary Afrobeat production. “Jejereje” was produced by Grammy Award-winning mastermind Ginton.
'Jerejere' takes listeners on a nostalgic ride with traditional storytelling of Ghanaian folklore.
The single is an ode to Ghana’s rich culture and history as it beautifully blends street music and style with vibrant melodies and rhythmic beats, all while visually and sonically capturing the depth and wisdom of Ghanaian narratives.
"Very few have propelled Ghana’s dancehall movement to greater heights than Stonebwoy," CNN stated earlier this year, after naming him one of their African Voices Changemakers. ‘
Jejereje’ highlights that influence as Stonebwoy honors the vibrant Ghanaian tradition of highlife music while layering modern, dance-worthy beats that will leave fans hooked.
Fans can be on the lookout for a new project from Stonebwoy that will be dropping next month.
Music lovers can expect an eclectic mix of genres as Stonebwoy seamlessly blends Afrobeat, Dancehall, Reggae, Highlife, Amapiano, and R&B influences.
